CIO Organized Tri City “Blogger Meetup”
“Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad”
[Lhr: November 23 '08, Isb: December 25 '08, Khi: December 06' 08: Karachi, Pakistan] CIO Pakistan, a well-known IDG brand and the Leading IT magazine in Pakistan carried out a tri city “Bloggers meetup” through the month of December, 2008. This tri city series was conducted in Islamabad on Dec 25th, 2008, Lahore Nov 23, 2008 and in Karachi December 6th, 2008. With the help of Google Pakistan, it was carried out successfully in all three cities.
Each one of the tri city event started out with an opening address by Mr. Badar Khusnood, Country Consultant for Google Pakistan, welcoming the bloggers. Going further, a small discussion spun off between two prominent bloggers, Mr. Awab Alvi and Ms. Sabeen Mehmood. As the event proceeded, few bloggers shared personal experiences. These included Saad from Islamabd and Haris from Lahore. A panel discussion also took place in which Mr.Awab Alvi, Ms. Ramla Akhtar, Mr. Saad Hamid, Mr. Ammar Yasir, Mr. Khalid Omer, Ms. Shazia Hasan, Mr. Toseefi Ikrami from stop.pk, Mr. Ahmed Bilal from Socees Lense, Mr. Abdullah Saad from WCCF Tech, Mr. Atta from propakistani, Mr.Mohammad Khan from Life and Mr. Adeel Ahmed from free lancer participated. The discussed highlighted ways in which IT Sector along with other sectors of our economy can be promoted through blogging.
Wateen in coordination with CIO facilitated all the bloggers with WiMAX blog the event live. Purpose of the event was to facilitate an interaction amongst bloggers with in order to promote and highlight the IT sector.
Experienced bloggers were given the chance to share their knowledge and experiences. In the meanwhile, the to-be bloggers were given a chance to learn from the local success stories and network with the professionals. The event provided the bloggers with the platform to interact offline.
