For those you following the story of the P@SHA ICT Awards, the winners traveled to Jakarta where the APICTA award winners were announced about an hour ago. Thanks to photographs taken courtesy Chairman P@SHA Imran Zia and P@SHA President, along with Jehan Ara’s blog, Pakistan bagged 3 of the 16 awards!

PixSense PSP won the award for Best in Media and Entertainment Applications, TPS Pvt Limited won the Award for Best in Tools & Infrastructure Applications and Kraysis won in the Best Startup Category. Kraysis has done some phenomenal work in Software Quality Assurance and has landed some mega contracts! According to the post made by Jehan Ara, there were 134 applications competing from 11 different countries in the region. Pakistan competed in all 16 categories and came out with 3. What a win! What an accomplishment!

But what does the win mean for Pakistani IT? Don’t companies everywhere win all the time? Does it really make a difference? Sure it does. Everyone harps about the international exposure we need, well – we have it. And what is more important is that the association with such platforms has been consistent for a number of years. Click through the APICTA website and you’ll find P@SHA or Pakistani companies mentioned in every year the awards have been held there. Not only are our companies winning awards, but they are also starting to serve markets outside of Pakistan that are NOT necessarily in the US. The APAC and EMEA region have a lot of work to reward the good companies. You don’t become “good” until you have the track record. You certainly don’t get a track record until you get clients and you can’t get customers until you are known. It’s a vicious cycle but one that every company is well aware of!

Congratulations to the APICTA and all the companies who were in the running! You guys make the process more competitive and make sure that the standard is a high one!

Congratulations to all the companies who traveled to APICTA. You continue to make us proud! See you when you get back!

And here’s the disclaimer that adds on with this “blog” above: We are proud to be Pakistani. We are technology trade journalists who have been covering the local technology industry for the past 13 years. We have an association and affiliation with every company that is out there who needs any kind of possible assistance that we can possibly offer. We sit in a lot of bored and board rooms and will continue to support every local company, initiative or effort that calls on us for any kind of support. We aren’t all-knowing (since there is only One of those around us) but we have genuine respect, admire and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the companies and individuals who run those organizations. Lastly we salute the work and effort and passion that people put behind the collaborative campaign to make our country a better place and it is our most fundamental obligation and duty to continue to work with every ambassador who is willing to make a difference.
