The New Year ReSOLUTIONS
At some point, you have to get tired of hearing ‘it’s going to be a tough year!’ – it’s no longer a prediction or a hypothetical statement. For a lot of businesses, it will sadly be a reality. Everything is ‘tight’ and budgets might not be streaming down the path of SI’s and vendors any time soon, but there work to be done. So if you ARE one of those people who are getting tired of the repeated statement of how we’re all doomed, then there is only option out for you: initiate the change.
You get to any destination one step at a time; every container fills up with water one drop at a time; so by the same token, why can’t we resolve each of the problems which plague us, one solution at a time. Today is probably about addressing issues at the Micro level and if enough people/companies do so, the Macro level will automatically change. The change will be eventual and slow and painful and frustrating, but for most of us, do we have a choice?
Roll the dice and learn to manage the risk. Believe me, it’s worth it being here.
On behalf of CIO Pakistan, I’d like to wish you all a safe and prosperous New Year. We sincerely hope that each of you, at the individual as well as organizational levels, turn this into a productive year. As for us, we’ve got a relatively packed year planned ahead for our industry and have good things to look forward to, right here. Like I said, each company that we read or hear about, make every word printed in CIO magazine, worth something great!
During the day of the 1st of January, we’ll be updating the site with a few New Year ReSOLUTIONS which people from within the industry shared with us. Do stop by and read up what they are. Perhaps if you have something to contribute to their SOLUTIONS, you are welcome to do so here!
