More and more companies are cutting down on printing of documents unless they really need to. In trying to be environment-friendly and simultaneously pinch costs wherever possible, the reams of paper that used to feed our documentation frenzy, is finally slowing down. With KESC pulling out all the stops in loadshedding, the majority of small companies have no choice but to save electricity where they can. However despite the interesting fact that you can buy a printer cartridge and a printer for almost the same amount, people are playing an active part in being environmentally friendly.
But in line with our lean, mean and recession theme, the number of entrepreneurs who are coming up, is also interesting. Yes, they first get offloaded from companies with the massive lay-offs in the past 6 months, and then these youngsters venture off to find their dreams. In keeping their minimal, virtual non-existent budgets in mind, most one-man companies are on the lookout for shared spaces. Budding entrepreneurs right here in Pakistan are offering ‘desks for hire’ whereby individuals who can pay a minimal rent to be allowed to park themselves into a desk in an office environment and perhaps plug into an ecosystem of shared resources. These guys are making the big bucks… one desk at a time.
Editor’s Note: If you know of such locations or services, please do post them on our ciopakistan.com website. We’d like to share these locations with budding entrepreneurs who write in so frequently
