MIT Entrepreneur Forum, led by Ken Morse and Bill Aulet of MIT Entrepreneurship Center, has been gaining momentum in Pakistan over the past two years. When the MIT Club of Pakistan Enterprise Forum (MITEF) was formed, it formalized activities driven by and people such as Dr. Zahir Ali Syed, an entrepreneur and educationist, Farrokh Captain, Chairman Captain Industry and others who joined the effort. The success story of the day has been their program, BAP or Business Acceleration Program, which has enabled a tremendous amount of professional networking, bringing the entrepreneurial spirit to the surface.
Companies such as Alchemy, Autosoft, Sofizar, Softech and Tohfay were the finalists last year, with Sofizar winning the competition. Zafar Khan, founder of Sofizar, is already on his way to take his already multimillion dollar venture to a $15 million company. Companies that are interested in participating in the 2009 BAP competition may register themselves through the website at www.mitef-pakistan.org.
CIO Pakistan is the media partner with the event and will be carrying regular updates and information about the event through their web properties.
