Is Facebook the New Faithbook?

Granted we’ve got more than one entry about the world’s largest online social community but this simply had to be reported! And yes, it IS a trend!

We’ve all heard President Obama making use of new media to mobilize the youth vote. But when you read about the Pope joining Facebook and having a website launched to reach out to the young generations, you’re wondering if there is anything else that can shock you. The Vatican has its own YouTube channel and while it might not have as many views for each video as you would expect, the institution is reaching out to the younger generation on its own turf – A cursory search online will also reveal a number of Islamic websites and communities where people can discuss and exchange ideas. Is all this a sign of the times or a sign from God? Log onto pope2you.net
