[August 14, 2009: Lahore, Pakistan]: The world’s most powerful search engine, Google, and CIO Pakistan recently organized the Lahore Tweetup at the Hot Fuzon Café, the second its nationwide Tweetup series. Gathering more than 140 active bloggers and microbloggers to engage in a discussion of the role Blogs and Tweets can play in promoting a better, more realistic image of Pakistan. In line with the spirit of Pakistan’s Independence Day, there was an overwhelmingly patriotic discussion on what each individual had achieved, and the way forward for online image building could be.

Badar Khushnood, Country Consultant for Google in Pakistan commented, “The fact that we had more than 140 people come join us on Pakistan’s Independence Day is a demonstration of strong commitment our blogosphere has towards building Pakistan’s image. After the Kolachi Tweetup, this gathering in Lahore has been just as enthusiastic to work with!” A Viper Netbook was announced by Intel as a giveaway for the Tweetup.

The Lahore Tweetup was sponsored by Wateen and Intel, and supported by Bramerz.
