Microsoft Pakistan Hosts Launch of Windows 7
Everyone’s talking about the new efficiency!
[October 22, 2009: Karachi, Pakistan] Microsoft holds “The NEW Efficiency” launch at Sheraton Hotel.
CIO Pakistan a part of IDG group was selected by Microsoft as “Exclusive Media Partner” for the Microsoft® Windows 7 launch event. It was a Joint Business Launch Event where Microsoft launched its three new products Microsoft® Windows 7, Microsoft® Windows Server 2008 R2 & Microsoft® Exchange Server 2010 in a single event. The aim was to present the customers with new products that will help them to meet challenges in the future.
The event started with an opening speech by Mr. Kamal Ahmed, Country General Manager – Microsoft Pakistan, followed by Mr. Sherif Siddik, Regional Director for North Africa, East Mediterranean and Pakistan. The other prominent people who spoke at the event were Mr. Zafar Ul Islam, Enterprise Technology Strategist, Microsoft Pakistan who delivered a keynote on The New Efficiency – Joint Business Launch Event and Ms. Salma Nisar, Account Technology Strategist, Microsoft Pakistan who talked about The Value of Optimized Desktop.
CIO WebStudio covered the entire event and the Microsoft team was delighted with the help provided by CIO Pakistan for the successful launch. It was the second time in the history that a product at the client end, Microsoft Windows 7, was launched with a product at client back end, Microsoft Windows Server® 2008 R2, simultaneously.
Microsoft product launch was supported by CIO Custom Solutions Group an exclusive media partner. A large audience attended the event ranging from IT professionals, executives, enterprise businessmen, and bloggers.

Microsoft shoud organize these events in universities so that students of the present time could know its products and take the real advantage of the products.
Some of the universities in Pakistan are still using Windows 98, 2000 and XP.
So this step should be taken as soon as possible to overcome the deficincy of technology and IT in Pakistan.
