[November 04, 2009: Karachi, Pakistan] The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Event 2009. A one-day learning and networking platform for established and aspiring entrepreneurs took place at Sheraton Hotel.

The Indus Entrepreneurs organized an Event by the name “Make it Real”. The event provided a platform for interaction between the established and aspiring entrepreneurs.

People from all walks of life attended the event especially students not just from Karachi but from different parts of interior Sindh were also attending the event. The time was neatly divided into sections allowing speakers to make their points, share their stories and then later have sufficient time for question and answer sessions, so that any confusion as to the matter could be cleared.

I believe we can change the world” were the words uttered diligently by Sabeen Mahmud (President TiE Karachi) as she talked about “Bootstrapping” and how she managed to setup a business with almost no personal finances. She humbly shared her story of her entrepreneurial struggle with the young students circled around her listening carefully. She emphasized on the importance of passion for achieving as a determinant of entrepreneurial success that an aspiring entrepreneur should possess and the fact that we should not wait for the product/idea to be perfect till we actually materialize it rather she said “it’s something that you learn in the process”.

The event ended with applause and every one exited with clearer ideas for their entrepreneurial dreams. Tea and snacks were served outside the hall that allowed the participants to engage in un-formal talks with their speakers.
