SEVP (Corporate Development) PTCL Sikandar Naqi and Brigadier Haider Ali Khan Deputy DG Special Communication Organization (SCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will enhance the mutual co-operation and collaboration in the field of telecommunication services.
Nokia has released Qt 4.6, the latest version of the cross-platform application and UI framework. The Qt 4.6 makes developing advanced applications and devices easier and more enjoyable. It includes support for the Symbian platform, for the first time, and also adds Windows 7, Apple Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and the upcoming Maemo 6 to the list of Qt supported platforms. Qt 4.6 builds upon the graphical improvements of 4.5 and enhances them with the addition of new Animation Framework. One of the most exciting new features in Qt 4.6 is the ability to create multi-touch applications. Complimenting the release of Qt 4.6 is an updated release of Qt Creator, a cross-platform IDE for Qt development.
A Technology Session was organized by Inbox in collaboration with Microsoft for briefing customers about the key features and business benefits of implementing Microsoft Hyper-V at their organizations. It was an interactive session that held on 13 October 2009 at Inbox head office. The implementation of Hyper-V, the Microsoft hypervisor-based server virtualization technology, makes it easier to take advantage of the cost savings of virtualization.
A significant quantity of Chinese-made handsets are available in Pakistan that come without valid International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) that has posed serious threats to the national security as such phones have allegedly been used by the terrorists. These Chinese handsets are fully functional; however, they lack IMEI programming because Chinese manufacturers are usually not registered companies thus no IMEI range is allocated to them. The Government of Pakistan has yet not initiated any plan to combat this issue whereas it was reported that as many as 25 million Chinese handsets were blocked in India which were available in the market without valid IMEI numbers.
Samsung Electronics Company Limited, as a joint promotion with McDonald’s Pakistan, has introduced the latest Samsung Corby Series mobile phones at McDonald’s outlets across Pakistan. The joint promotion aims to generate excitement among the youth and providing them a feel of the touch phones and boosting their comprehension. It will be conducted at all McDonald’s outlets in Pakistan, where the expected customers are around 100,000 per month/per outlet. Stall activity will be held for 30 days, all customers of Meals will be entered in a lucky draw, and each venue will have one lucky draw winner. The Managing Director of Samsung Pakistan Mr. Steve Han said, “Two highly prestigious Global brands Samsung and McDonald’s have come together to provide the customers with healthy social activities and cellular interactions, where the young generation can get a hands-on experience of the latest Samsung Corby phone while enjoying the great taste of McDonalds Meals and desserts.”
