Viper Technology nominated as Pakistan’s first IASP
Viper Technology, Pakistan’s leading IT solutions providers, has been nominated as Pakistan’s first Intel’s Authorized Service Provider (IASP). It will enable the firm to provide customers with efficient warranty services and support on Intel-based machines. This achievement will not only promote the local IT companies but will also provide an opportunity to the other Pakistan technology providers to compete on an international platform. Viper Technology CEO and President Pakistan Computer Association, Khushnood Aftab said: “It is an honor to be the first company in Pakistan to have been appointed as IASP.”
SBP all set to launch e-bond trading
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is about to launch the first ever Electronic Bond Trading Platform (e-bond) for trading purpose of government securities in the secondary market. Sources have tell that SBP will officially launch this service in early next year i.e. January’s first or second week.
Internet cafes facing crunch, losing popularity
It has been observed over a few years that the Internet Café owners have either closed down or switched to other businesses due to technological advancements in cell phones and laptops. It was in 1994 when world’s first internet cafe was opened in London after which it saw a mushroom growth world-wide. A recent survey of twin cities have showed that many Internet Cafes are being replaced by shops such as mobile phone and its accessories, photocopying machines, composing, printing and publications.
PTCL’s Broadband service reaches 200 cities and districts
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in a short period of 2 and a half years, has expanded its network by offering broadband services in more than 200 cities and districts. It has been named as the Biggest Broadband Service provider. PTCL started by offering the service in 3 cities only but now it has more than 300,000 customers. However, as per the company, it is still taking effective steps to provide better service on a regular basis.
