Country Manager Intel Pakistan Corporation Ashar H. Zaidi announced the lunch of the all-new 2010 Intel® CoreTM family processors, in Pakistan on January 21, 2010. The announcement was made in a press conference at PC Hotel, Karachi. The new 2010 Intel Core processors, i3, i5 and i7, are manufactured on the company’s 32 nanometer process, which includes Intel’s second-generation high-k metal gate transistors.

This introduction coincides with the arrival of Intel’s groundbreaking new 32 nanometer (nm) manufacturing process, which for the first time in the company’s history, will be used to immediately produce and deliver processors and features at mainstream price points, and integrate high-definition graphics inside the processor.

Ashar Zaidi, Intel PakistanThe company revealed that this new desktop, mobile and embedded processors deliver smart performance for music, gaming, videos, movies, photos, social networking and other demanding mainstream applications, based on award winning “Nehalem” micro-architecture.

These smart processors adapt to an individual’s needs, automatically providing a boost of performance for everyday applications. “For the first time, there is a new family of Intel processors with the industry’s most advanced technology available, immediately for the mass market at a variety of attractive, mainstream price points,” said Zaidi.

New Core i7 and Core i5 processors also feature exclusive Intel® Turbo Boost Technology1 and Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology2 for adaptive performance, and thus smarter computing. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology1 automatically and intelligently accelerates performance, dynamically adjusting to the workload to give users an immediate performance boost when needed.

The Country Manager, towards the end of the event, demonstrated how the New Core processors (i3, i5 and i7) are better than the Core 2 duo processors in various applications. The new family is about 30-35% efficient than Core 2 duo processors.
