NADRA achieved ISO 9001: 2008 certifications for its “Quality Standard” of two National Registration Centers located in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, on February 18th 2010. This certification was awarded after a recent audit conducted by the internationally accredited body “Bureau Veritas Certification”.

The Bureau Veritas is a Group with expertise in helping clients comply with standards and regulations relating to Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility.

Speaking at the event the Deputy Chairman of NADRA Mr.Tariq said “This is a landmark achievement attained as an outcome of upbeat efforts by our team to promote advanced technologies and highest quality management standards so that the process of registration for the citizens of Pakistan can be speeded up”

He also added, “We are consistently monitoring and improving our service delivery as our officers randomly visit the registration centers as mystery customers and we always look forward to valuable suggestions from civil society and the media inorder to further improve our services”

This certification has mapped and aligned existing registration procedures with International Quality Standards focusing on improved customer satisfaction and service efficiency.

NADRA has already achieved CMMI certification by Carnegie Mellon USA, ISMS (ISO 27001) and ISO 9001:2008 for other directorates. Also, recently NADRA received “ID World Achievement Award 2009” by ID World Congress which is based in Italy. It was awarded to Mr. Tariq for outstanding performance out of a list of 250 candidates from 75 countries.

It made a lot of sense when Mr.Tariq said “Quality is a journey, not the end and NADRA is leading the best standards for managing registration requirements & delivery of National Identity documents for Pakistanis.”

One Response to Yet another achievement by NADRA!

  1. Remarkable with the kind of resources they have. Heard there is a back log of almost one hundred thousand passports these days :) I guess its the usual shortage of imported lamination films.
