The Corporate Perspective on PROCOM
I had the opportunity to speak with a few people that came to PROCOM this morning. Some advice and words of wisdom from the professional sphere can only be helpful. For those of you visiting PROCOM, you’ll find all kinds of companies that extend their support to the skilled youth of FAST.
Adnan Lawai, CEO Folio 3, says, “It’ll be good if you can take this event global, which you’ve already done this year! I’d like to see Pakistani events go international, because people in the rest of the world, only know about the bombs that explode in Pakistan, and that’s it. One thing we’re focusing here is to try and hire exceptional talent into our company from here at ProCom 2010. Not just the winners, but anyone who we find promising shall be our recruit!”
Sana Hussain, HR Executive at TEN PEARLS commented, “We’re basically here to promote our brand and market what we offer. Our company is 5 years old and we’re sponsoring this event the second year running. A message I’d like to let everyone attending know, is to drop your resumes at our stall in ProCom over the course of the 2 days that we are here. For ProCom, I’d say that this is an excellent platform for showcasing talent – A multi-purpose platform for both students and companies to work in the direction of their respective goals.”
Naeem Ansari, Project Coordinator, Terms Division at Mazik Pakistan, says, “Our aim here is to help lessen the gap between academia and industry. We want to build students because we feel that quality is depreciating over time. We want to educate the students in a much proper way. Universities teach technology but they don’t teach their students how to brand themselves.”
Obaid ur Rahman, Creative Manager of StudioM, says, “The event is at par with our expectations and considering ours is a company that was founded by ex-FASTians, we’re even more excited to be here! We can brand out our company to the future talent of the Computer Science Department. Since our company does graphic, animation and web design, so we’d like to promote our brand to the event attendees. This is the place we think, where we can find out the talent.”
