Encouraging its students who are training in various engineering-related disciplines and providing them with opportunities to stimulate their analytical abilities, gain exposure and grow as sound professionals, the NED University of Engineering and Technology has organized the TechELITE’11 event.

TechELITE’11 is “an annual mega IT Event organized by the Computer & Information Systems Engineering Department students” that has so far played a truly impressive role in promoting the talent and skills of the students enrolled at NED University.  This year TechELITE’11 will be hosted at the NED University Campus with CIO Pakistan and PC World Pakistan as Technology Media Partners for the event.

TechELITE has been gaining prominence in the IT Industry over the years, a point that is proved by the fact that nearly 30 universities participated in the event last year. A number of competitions are also included as part of the TechELITE and these provide students as well as representatives of the IT Industry to interact with each other.

The event will also feature a number of competitions and exhibition including a ‘Mobile Application Exhibition’, ‘Speed Programming Competition’, ‘Software Project Exhibition’, ‘Network Management Competition’, ‘Software Modeling & Design Competitions’, ‘Mobile Application Exhibition’ and ‘Computers became the Talk of the past and Mobiles The talk of the day’. In the past a maximum of four competitions were held at previous TechELITE events, but this time the number of featured competitions has been increased to accommodate more students and give them a wider scope to exhibit their particular areas of expertise.

The most popular of these is the ‘Mobile Application and Exhibition’ competition. It aims to present students with the opportunity to showcase mobile applications that they have made in front of experts from the Industry. Participants will be allowed to give demonstrations of apps for mobile platforms like Nokia’s Symbian OS, Google’s Android, Apple’s iPhone, Microsoft Windows Mobile 7 and Blackberry. Furthermore, contestants could develop applications for either the ‘Fun & Games’ category or the ‘Apps’ category.

The TechELITE’11 is a unique platform, specifically tailored to promote the talent present in Pakistani students. It will allow the students, most of whom will soon graduate, a lot of opportunities to network and interact with Industry professionals and consequently raise their chances of getting good jobs later on in their careers.
