‘Jaffer Brothers’ Wins Oracle PartnerNetwork APAC Award

Jaffer Brothers, JBL, was recognized as the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) APAC FY10 Accelerate Partner of the Year at Oracle’s annual Executive Partner Forum. The OPN APAC Partner of the Year Award was presented to those partners who had been exceptional in using the Oracle products and technology to create value and innovative solutions for customers. Jaffer Brothers is a Platinum member in the Oracle PartnerNetwork and Oracle’s only partner to receive this award. The award signifies JBL’s success in effectively using the resources, to address the needs of midsize customers, from the Oracle Accelerate program in Pakistan. JBL’s solutions provide an enterprise resource planning solution to midsize firms that allows them to implement the solution in about 3 months.

 

Samsung Celebrates 300 Million Global Handset Sales in 2011

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, for the first in their history, has had over 300 million units’ sales of mobile handsets. The company’s highly successful and popular handsets, Galaxy S and Galaxy S II, serve as major contributors in achieving this milestone. The Samsung Galaxy S II was launched in May 2011 and set a new sales record for generating 10 million sales. Bada 2.0 and Bada-powered Wave technology in Samsung’s Smartphones helped increase its global sales. In October 2011, Samsung also launched GALAXY Note, a smart mobile device combining touch-screen and pen-input technologies. The Managing Director of Samsung Pakistan, Hee Chang Yee said; “We are incredibly proud of this record-breaking sales milestone and have exceeded the annual target announced early this year.”

 

Wateen Inks Contract With Latitude CRS

Wateen Telecom has signed an agreement with Latitude Corporate Relationship Solutions to provide public relations services in the future. The agreement was signed by Wateen CEO, Naeem Zamindar and Latitude CEO at the Wateen office, Omar Jamil. After re-launch, the organization felt the need to have their relations with public and other corporate entities managed by PR experts. Latitude, a PR & Relationship Management company, offers various services in the public and corporate relations sector. The PR agency was selected on the basis of successfully building strategic relationships and communicating developments in Wateen’s technology, offerings and corporate standing amongst the public and other interest groups.

 

Asasah becomes first MFI to use Easypaisa for loan repayments

Asasah is the first Micro Finance Institution (MFI) and NGO to use Telenor Pakistan and Tameer Microfinance Bank’s Easypaisa services for repayment of small loans. Asasah customers, who have a taken a loan from any of Tameer Bank’s 100 branches, will be able to return it via any Easypaisa agent. There are about 14,000 Easypaisa agents in over 600 cities and towns across Pakistan. The move will help Asasah customers, mostly women; pay back loans to the NGO more easily. On the occasion, Nadeem Hussain, President & CEO Tameer Bank said “With Easypaisa, we hope to bring ease and convenience to Asasah customers.” The CEO of Asasah, Tabinda Jaffery, also said “Repayment of loans through Easypaisa agents will prove to be an extremely convenient solution for our clients who are all women.”
