(For PC World Pakistan)

The International School Educational Olympiad, ISEO, has been organized for more than ten years now, and the event has gained, not just in significance, but also become extremely popular amongst school going children today. The reason for that is the diversity that ISEO offers with the various categories that students may compete in. From writing to drawing to photography and film making, the competition has something for everyone. But despite all the goodwill in the world, the event needs funds to support it also. And here is where the PC World Pakistan Enablement Fund comes into play.

In this regard, the PC World Enablement Fund helps the initiative by inviting 25 IT companies to come together and pledge US$1000 each for the coming year’s ISEO 2012 which starts this very month in Karachi. Furthermore, on its own, PC World Pakistan also pledged US$3000 to the cause.

There are many, definitely, who could ask why one even needs to contribute to something like the ISEO 2012? The reason is not too difficult to discern. For the nearly 12 years of its existence, ISEO has been one of the most wonderful and exciting educational events in Pakistan… it is now an event that both educational institutions and students look forward to, as an excellent opportunity to show off their skills and prove their mettle. The PC World Enablement Fund is also a “way of giving back and ‘enabling’ the event to take place.”

The funding, a mere one thousand dollars only, could also be considered as part of the organization in question’s CSR budget, hence effectively helping the organization to do its part in helping the local civil society as well as forwarding an excellent and worthy educational cause in the country. So far, quite a few organizations from the industry have come forward to join the cause and have volunteered to sponsor the ISEO 2012 with the PC World Pakistan Enablement Fund. These organizations include Interactive Group, AKD Securities Ltd, Oracle, Teradata, Intel, TRG Tech, Fujitsu and Toffee TV. Meanwhile, Express Tribune, textually, City FM 89 and Vidpk.com are partners with ISEO for the event this year.

According to the PC World Enablement Fund, if only 25 other companies in the Pakistani IT industry pledge their whole-hearted support to the cause by sponsoring with even just a thousand dollars of their annual CSR budget, the ISEO 2012 could easily be held. So if you wish to join now, and sponsor the event, don’t hold back. Log onto the official ISEO homepage and contact us to be part of the event!
